Lighting works in layers

One room. Four decisions.

A comfortable room is not made brighter everywhere. It gives the right light a purpose, then makes it easy to control.
01

Ambient

The comfortable base level that lets the room feel complete without glare.

02

Task

Useful light at counters, desks, mirrors, reading positions and work surfaces.

03

Accent

Focused light that gives artwork, architecture and texture visual depth.

04

Control

Dimming and scenes that let the same room change from morning to evening.

What changes the scope

The finish is visible. The electrical planning is underneath it.

Interior work

Fixture replacements and some recessed-lighting projects can use a suitable existing circuit. Ceiling access, box support, switching, dimming and the room layout still need review.

Exterior work

New exterior lighting commonly changes the circuit, wiring method, weather protection and control plan. Routes should be durable and considered before fixtures are selected.

Renovation work

Open walls create the best opportunity to coordinate circuits, fixture locations, keypads, cabinetry, shades and future flexibility before finishes close.

Lutron controls + shades

Start with one better switch—or plan the whole home.

Seafield can install focused controls or help organize a larger RadioRA or HomeWorks direction with lighting scenes and automated-shade coordination.

Questions before an estimate

Useful answers, without the sales pressure.

How many recessed lights should a room have?

There is no universal number. Ceiling height, beam spread, furniture, natural light, wall finishes and the way the room is used should determine the layout.

Does new lighting require a new circuit?

Not always. Interior fixture replacements and some recessed-lighting projects may use an existing suitable circuit. New exterior systems, large additions and control packages require a review of the existing circuit, load, protection and wiring conditions.

Can Lutron controls be installed without opening every wall?

Often, yes. Existing wiring and the selected Lutron platform determine what can be accomplished with limited wall work. Seafield reviews the switch locations, neutral availability, load compatibility and control goals before recommending a system.

Can Seafield coordinate lighting with automated shades?

Yes. Shade groups, power, fabrics and scene behavior can be planned alongside dimmers and whole-home controls. Final product selection depends on the windows, wiring access and desired Lutron platform.

Can you work with my designer, builder or cabinet installer?

Yes. Early coordination helps align fixture locations, cabinetry, furniture, wall controls, shade pockets and rough wiring before finishes are installed.
